Thanks to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for the opportunity to share Google ’s work applying AI to advance cancer research, treatment, care, and cures. This talk was personal for me; I offered my perspective both as someone privileged to work with amazing scientists driving solutions and as a cancer survivor. AI is accelerating scientific breakthroughs, supporting better clinical delivery and outcomes, and strengthening cybersecurity in an era of rising healthcare data breaches. From tools that aid early detection and treatment decisions, to agentic AI that helps clinicians stay current with the latest guidelines, we are already seeing powerful examples of what AI is making possible in healthcare.
